Without adequate funding, accountability mechanisms fail and systemic harm continues.

Aristata is an impact-focused litigation finance platform that deploys private capital to fund high-impact legal claims addressing environmental damage, human rights violations, corporate misconduct, medical negligence, and anti-competitive behavior. By financing carefully selected cases across jurisdictions and sectors, Aristata aims to enable access to justice for marginalized communities and individuals, deliver compensation for proven harm, and incentivize corporate and governmental behavior change.

Tracking Progress

Aristata has funded claims in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Africa, covering environmental pollution, indigenous rights, medical negligence, data rights and privacy, corporate accountability, protection of human health, and employment rights. In 2025, Aristata had a total of nine in-progress cases and has invested in twelve cases to date. Three of these cases have concluded successfully.

Single Event Climate Damage Case vs Carbon Majors

Case Summary

“Single event” climate change case focused on the physical damage and economic impact caused by a specific hurricane, attributing liability to major carbon polluters for the increased intensity of the hurricane due to their contributions to global climate change and their historic efforts to obfuscate the science of carbon emissions. With the advancement of attribution science, it is now possible to model the 'excess' intensity of recent hurricanes in comparison with the past. The single event focus of the case is unique in the climate damage litigation space to date.

Case Summary

A claim focused on protecting the rights of women working at remote mining sites in Australia who were the targets of sexual harassment and discrimination while working for the company. The claim is on behalf of approximately 4,500 female employees and contractors. The claim addresses a systemic issue in the mining sector with a number of companies facing sexual harassment claims with a real need to enforce a change in culture and behavior in the wider sector. We believe this claim to be highly scalable wherever remote mining occurs and see significant value in demonstrating a successful approach to securing a just outcome for claimants.
